If a transaction is recorded on-chain but fails during execution, no tokens are sent, and contract operations do not take effect. However, because the blockchain has processed the transaction, you will still be charged for the network resources consumed during execution (gas fees).
Open the transaction details and tap “More details on blockchain explorer” to check the failure reason.
1. Out of Gas
The Gas Limit was too low to complete the transaction.
When retrying, use imToken’s estimated Gas Limit without lowering it manually. If it still fails, contact the project team to confirm the required Gas Limit before trying again.
2. Reverted or Execution Reverted
The transaction did not meet the contract’s execution conditions, so the operation was stopped and its effects reversed. Common causes include:
- Insufficient token balance or spending allowance;
- Paused token transfers or locked tokens;
- Contract restrictions on the sending or receiving address;
- Transaction parameters or contract state that do not meet requirements.
Check the explorer’s error message, your balance, spending allowance, and the feature’s requirements. If you cannot identify the cause, contact the project team.
3. Bad Instruction or Invalid Opcode
The contract encountered an invalid instruction, usually related to its code or execution logic. Check the project’s announcements or contact its team for clarification. Avoid repeatedly submitting the transaction until the cause is resolved.
Note:
- Tokens in a failed transaction are not sent;
- Gas fees already consumed are not refunded. Check the on-chain record for the exact amount;
- Identify the cause and make the necessary adjustments before retrying the transaction.
