Exchanges offer several networks for USDT withdrawals, such as TRC20, ERC20, and BEP20, and wallets have separate accounts for different networks. It may seem complicated, but there is just one rule to remember: the network selected by the sender must match the network of the wallet receiving USDT.
1. Identify the USDT network
USDT is a token available on multiple networks, not a separate blockchain. Use the table below to match the transfer network with the correct wallet account:
| Exchange Withdrawal / Transfer Network | imToken Receiving Account | Features and Use Cases |
| TRON (TRC20) | TRON account | Widely used for USDT, especially frequent everyday transfers |
| Ethereum (ERC20) | Ethereum account | Strong security and a rich ecosystem, suitable for storing large amounts |
| BNB Smart Chain (BEP20) | BNB Smart Chain account | Low fees, suitable for interacting with on-chain applications |
| Arbitrum One | Arbitrum account | |
| Polygon | Polygon account |
Note: Confirmation times and network fees vary by network. Refer to the transfer page and current network conditions for details.
2. Add a receiving account
This example shows how to receive USDT on TRON (TRC20).
Open imToken and switch to your TRON account. If you do not have one yet, follow these steps to add it:
- In imToken, go to “My Profile” -> “Manage wallets”.
- Tap “Add Account” next to the relevant wallet.
- Find “TRON” in the Layer 1 list, tap “+”, and confirm.
- Return to the wallet homepage and open the TRON account you just added.
3. Get your address and receive USDT
- Open your TRON account and tap “Receive”.
- Copy the wallet address shown on the page or share its QR code.
-
Follow the instructions for your transfer method:
- Withdrawing from an exchange: Select USDT as the token and TRON (TRC20) as the withdrawal network, then paste the address or scan its QR code.
- Receiving from another person: Send them your address or QR code and remind them to send USDT on the TRON network.
Tips:
- When using a new address for the first time, send a small test amount. Once it arrives, transfer the remaining assets.
- Sending TRC20-USDT after receiving it requires Energy and Bandwidth. Make sure your account has enough TRX to obtain these resources. You can receive TRX through the TRC20 network or buy TRX with the USDT in your account. See the guide to getting TRX quickly.
