When creating or importing a wallet and adding a Bitcoin account, the default address type is Taproot, with the path: m/86'/0'/0', which starts with bc1p. After adding an account, you can also add the other three types of addresses according to your needs.
How to add
1. Open imToken and navigate to "My Profile" -> "Manage wallets" -> "Add"
2. In the "Add account to wallet" page, find the “Bitcoin” network icon in the Layer 1 section and click the three dot in the upper-right corner, then select "Advanced".
3. You will see four types of addresses: Taproot, Native SegWit (Bech32), Nested SegWit (P2SH), and Legacy.
4. Select the address type you want to add and click "Confirm".
5. Return to the wallet home page to access the newly added BTC account.
Note
1. Native SegWit, Nested SegWit, and Taproot Bitcoin addresses require lower transaction fees compared to Legacy addresses.
2. Under a wallet generated from the same mnemonic phrase, only one account per BTC address type is currently supported.
3. Tokens associated with the four types of addresses are not interchangeable. To transfer tokens, you need to initiate a transaction.
