A BTC transfer may remain pending for a long time if the fee rate is too low or the network is congested, delaying confirmation by miners.
The Bitcoin network produces a new block roughly every 10 minutes on average. This does not guarantee confirmation within 10 minutes. The actual time depends on the fee rate and network congestion.
*Version note: imToken versions earlier than 2.16.0 may show “Timeout” if a transaction remains unconfirmed for about 48 hours. This is a local app status and does not mean the transaction has failed or been canceled. It may still be confirmed later. Update to the latest version of imToken and check the actual on-chain status using a blockchain explorer.*
For a pending transaction, you can:
1. Wait for network congestion to ease or fee rates to drop so miners can confirm it.
2. Use a trusted paid transaction acceleration service if it supports your transaction. Before using it, verify the official website and review its rules, fees, and risks.
For future transfers, if you set a custom fee rate, refer to the current rates on https://mempool.space to avoid long confirmation delays caused by setting the rate too low.
