Why Upgrade Your Account?
imToken Web accounts are built on smart contracts. As blockchain technology and security standards evolve, these contracts are regularly updated to enhance performance and security.
Upgrading your account gives you:
- Enhanced security: The latest contract fixes potential vulnerabilities and provides stronger protection for your assets.
- Improved experience: Updates may add new features or usability improvements, making your account more stable and easier to use.
- Future compatibility: Keeps your account ready for upcoming features and events.
New accounts are created on the latest contract version, so no upgrade is needed.
How to Upgrade
- Visit https://web.token.im and open imToken Web. Click Sign in → Sign in with Passkey, then use biometric verification to log in.

Open the account settings in the top-right corner.
- If your account needs an upgrade, you’ll see an Account upgrade required button.
- If the button isn’t shown, your account is already on the latest version—no action needed.

Click Account upgrade required and confirm.
- The system will run an on-chain upgrade transaction. imToken covers the gas fees, so no ETH is needed from your wallet.
- Once complete, your account will be upgraded to the latest contract version.

Upgrade Confirmation
After the process finishes, the page will show Upgrade Successful. Your account will then be on the latest contract, and you can continue using all features as usual.
