How to use zkSync Era with imToken?

What is zkSync Era?

Based on ZK Rollup, zkSync Era is a Layer 2 scaling protocol launched by Matter Labs to improve the scalability of Ethereum. zkSync Era is EVM compatible, allowing developers to easily deploy smart contracts on the network.

How to use zkSync Era with imToken?

Creating a zkSync Era account

Click on "My Profile" - "Manage wallets" - "Add", select the “zkSync Era” network and confirm, then return to the wallet homepage to access the newly created zkSync Era account.

Transferring and receiving

In the zkSync Era account, you can enter the page for transferring and receiving tokens by clicking the corresponding token icon. Let’s take ETH as an example.

Transferring

Click “Transfer” then enter the amount and recipient’s address to transfer.

Note:

  1. Please make sure that there is sufficient ETH in your wallet to pay for the gas fee before transferring;
  2. If you are transferring from the zkSync Era wallet to an exchange, be sure to select the zkSync Era deposit network on the exchange.

Receiving

Click “Receive” then you can share your QR code or wallet address on the page to receive tokens from others.

Note: If you are withdrawing from an exchange to the zkSync Era wallet, be sure to select the zkSync Era withdrawal network.

Cross-chain deposit and withdrawal

Deposit and withdrawal refer to the process of using cross-chain bridges to deposit tokens from the ETH wallet to the zkSync Era wallet or withdraw tokens from the zkSync Era wallet to the ETH wallet. Here we will take “zkSync Era Bridge” as an example.

Deposit

1. Click "Browser", enter "zkSync" in the search bar and click "zkSync Era Bridge". After the DApp is launched, click "MetaMask" to connect your wallet.

2. Select the token to be deposited and enter the amount, then click "Deposit" to initiate the transaction. After the transaction is done, the page will display "Deposit Successful". After about 5 minutes, you can find the funds in your zkSync Era wallet.

Withdrawal

If you want to withdraw your tokens to ETH wallets, please open “zkSync Era Bridge” and select "Withdraw".

Note: Due to the security mechanism of zkSync Era, it takes about 24 hours for the withdrawal to arrive.

Click “DApp” on the account page then you can see the most popular DApps in the zkSync Era ecosystem.

Now you can experience the DApps that you are interested in.
