What is Robinhood Chain?
Robinhood is a financial services platform that provides investment and trading services for stocks, ETFs, digital tokens, and more. Robinhood Chain is an Ethereum-compatible Layer 2 network launched by Robinhood. It is designed to bring traditional financial assets and real-world assets (RWAs) onchain, allowing users and developers to access and use onchain financial services in a more open and cost-efficient onchain experience.
How It Works
Robinhood Chain is built on the Arbitrum Orbit technology stack and is an Ethereum Layer 2 scaling solution. Its core mechanism includes:
- Inheriting Ethereum’s security: Transaction data is submitted to Ethereum mainnet for final confirmation, relying on Ethereum’s underlying consensus mechanism to help secure the network.
- High throughput and low cost: A large amount of transaction computation is moved to Layer 2, helping reduce gas fees and ease network congestion.
Tokens
- Gas token: ETH, used to pay network fees for transfers, smart contract interactions, and other onchain operations.
-
Ecosystem tokens: Robinhood Chain supports ERC-20 tokens, including stablecoins such as USDG, stock tokens such as Nvidia (NVDA) and Tesla (TSLA), and ETF tokens such as SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY).
- Note: The purchase, holding and use of tokenized assets such as stocks and ETFs must comply with local laws and regulations. For details, please refer to Robinhood’s official information.
Key Features
- Users retain self-custody of stock tokens
- High throughput and fast confirmation
- Full compatibility with the EVM ecosystem

In the Robinhood Chain account, you can click Transfer or Receive and then perform the corresponding operation.
Receiving
Click Receive, share the QR code or copy your wallet address, and use the Robinhood Chain network to receive tokens.
Transferring
Click Transfer, select the token you want to transfer, enter the recipient’s address and amount, and then confirm and send the transaction.
Note: Before making a transfer, please ensure that your wallet has sufficient ETH to cover the gas fee.
Bridging tokens to Robinhood Chain
If you hold tokens on other networks, such as Ethereum or Arbitrum, you can use DApps such as Relay or 1inch to bridge tokens to your Robinhood Chain account. The following example uses Relay:
- In imToken, tap the Browser tab, search for Relay, or enter https://relay.link/ to visit its official website.
- Tap Connect in the top-right corner, select imToken -> EVM, and confirm to connect your wallet.
- In the Sell field(source network), switch to the network where your tokens are held, such as Arbitrum, then search for or select the token, such as ETH.
- In the Buy field, which is the target network, tap SELECT TOKEN -> More, then search for and select Robinhood Chain.
- Select or search for the token on Robinhood Chain, such as ETH.
- Enter the swap amount, check the network fee, tap Swap, and sign to send the transaction as prompted.
- After the transaction is confirmed, return to the wallet homepage to check the received balance.
Note: After a new token is transferred in, a blue dot may appear on the + button on the right side of the token list if the token is not shown on the homepage. Tap + to enter the token management page. You can add the token to the homepage from All My Assets or Popular Assets. Learn more: How to manage and add tokens in imToken?
