How to Use MegaETH with imToken?

What is MegaETH?

MegaETH is an Ethereum Layer 2 scaling network built for a “real-time blockchain” experience. It is designed to deliver up to 100,000 TPS (transactions per second) and millisecond-level block times, making it suitable for latency-sensitive scenarios such as high-performance trading platforms, real-time on-chain games, and other consumer-facing crypto applications.

How It Works

MegaETH improves overall performance and responsiveness through an innovative node architecture and in-memory execution.

  • Heterogeneous Design & Specialized Nodes
    Unlike traditional blockchains where all nodes perform the same tasks, MegaETH adopts a heterogeneous architecture. Heavy computation is handled by high-performance sequencers that order and execute transactions, while other nodes focus on verifying results. This division of labor reduces redundant computation and significantly improves overall network efficiency.
  • In-Memory Execution
    To reduce latency caused by disk I/O, MegaETH uses in-memory computing to store on-chain state directly in memory. Combined with Just-In-Time (JIT) compilation, this allows transaction execution to better leverage modern CPU performance and deliver millisecond-level user feedback.

Tokens

  • ETH: The gas token used to pay network fees (for example, transfers).
  • MEGA: The protocol’s core token. Sequencer operators stake MEGA to help secure the network. Holders can participate in governance and earn rewards.
  • USDm: MegaETH’s native stablecoin (supported by Ethena). Backed by reserve assets such as U.S. Treasuries, its reserve yield is used to fund network operations and MEGA buybacks and accumulation—helping keep transaction fees extremely low while supporting ecosystem growth.

How to use MegaETH with imToken?

Creating a MegaETH account

To create a MegaETH account, navigate to My Profile -> Manage wallets -> Add. In the Popular section, select MegaETH Mainnet, and confirm. Then, return to the wallet homepage to access your newly created MegaETH account.

Note: The Popular section lists networks that have been accessed most frequently in recent days. If you don’t see the MegaETH network there, look under the Layer 2 section.

Receiving and transferring funds

In the MegaETH account, you can click "Transfer" or "Receive" and then perform the corresponding operation.

Receiving

Click "Receive", share the QR code or copy the address and send it to the other party.

Transferring

Click "Transfer", set the type and amount of token you want to transfer, enter the recipient's  address, and then click "Next".

Note: Before making a transfer, please ensure that your account has sufficient ETH to cover the gas fee.
