When you open imToken Web inside apps like Instagram or Facebook and try to try to create or log in to your account, you may see a message saying “Please open this link in your default browser.” This means the app’s built-in browser isn’t compatible with Passkeys.
Follow the steps below to open the link in your phone’s default browser (such as Safari, Chrome, or Edge) and complete the process.
Switch to your system browser in one of the following ways:
- Open directly: On the prompt page, tap the … menu in the top-right corner and choose Open in default browser (or a similar option).
- Copy the link: Manually copy the imToken Web link (https://web.token.im)—or tap Copy link from the menu—then open Safari, Chrome, or Edge on your phone and paste the link into the address bar.

2. Passkeys not supported
This means your device doesn’t support Passkeys. Try using a phone or computer that supports Passkeys to continue.
Note: Some Android models (for example, certain Huawei, Xiaomi, vivo, and OPPO devices) may not support passkeys yet. Refer to your device manufacturer’s guidance.
