What is Metis?
Metis is an Ethereum Layer 2 scaling solution incubated by MetisDAO, designed to enhance the scalability of the Ethereum network. Built on the Optimistic Rollup framework, what sets Metis apart from other Layer 2 networks is its utilization of a decentralized sequencer, significantly increasing the decentralization of the Layer 2 network and enhancing network security.
How to use Metis with imToken?
Creating a Metis account
To create a Metis account, navigate to "My Profile" -> "Manage wallets" -> "Add", select the “Metis Andromeda” network, and confirm. Then, return to the wallet homepage to access your newly created Metis account.
Receiving and transferring funds
In the Metis account, you can click "Transfer" or "Receive" and then perform the corresponding operation.
Receiving
Click "Receive ", share the QR code or copy the address and send it to the other party.
Transferring
Click "Transfer", set the type and amount of token you want to transfer, enter the receiver’s address, and then click "Next".
Note：Please make sure you have enough Metis in your wallet to pay the gas fee before transferring.
How to acquire Metis
Here, taking the withdrawal from the OKX exchange as an example, if you wish to transfer assets from OKX through the Metis network to a self-managed imToken wallet address, you can follow the steps below:
1. In the Metis account, click on the wallet address to copy it.
2. Within the OKX exchange app, initiate the on-chain withdrawal, paste your wallet address, select the Metis network, and click "Submit" to complete the withdrawal.
3. Wait for a while, and you can check the credited Metis tokens in your imToken wallet.
