Furthermore, we've compiled a list of frequently asked questions regarding validator rewards and our long-term operational procedures that we aim to address here:
1. What Rewards Have Accumulated in My Validator?
Validator rewards consist of two parts:
- Staking rewards: Rewards for processing transactions and validating blocks, which start to accumulate as soon as the validator enters an active state.
- Block rewards: Rewards for proposing the next block, which started accumulating from September 15, 2022.
Please refer to "The Rewards Structure of Non-Custodial ETH Staking Services" for more information.
2. How Do I View the Reward Status
First, you should upgrade to the latest version of imToken, 2.12.0, if you are still using older versions.
Click "Stake" on the ETH wallet homepage to see your overall reward status. To view your validator operation status, click ">”.
Finally, click "Validators" to view your staking rewards, block rewards, and other information.
3. Can I Exit Staking in the New Version?
Yes, the latest version of imToken supports this feature. Of course, you can also choose to continue staking and keep earning rewards.
4. What Should I Pay Attention to If I Want to Continue Staking?
- The new version supports claiming staking rewards by setting a withdrawal address, allowing you to periodically receive staking rewards automatically, which are processed by the Ethereum network.
- Currently, block rewards are accumulated in the validator. However, subsequent imToken versions will support claiming block rewards.
- After your staking service expires, there is no need to pay the follow-up maintenance service fee manually. It will automatically be deducted when claiming block rewards in the future based on your staking duration.
- Some users' staking services have expired, but due to force majeure (a six-month interval between The Merge and the Shapella upgrade), they continued to enjoy staking services. As agreed, staking services that expired before The Merge (September 15, 2022) were automatically extended for free until September 15, 2022. Since then, the service fee is calculated based on the actual duration and automatically deducted when claiming block rewards.
5. What Should I Pay Attention to If I Want to Exit Staking?
- First, you need to set a withdrawal address to receive staking rewards. Then you can exit staking on the validator management page following the page prompts.
- Once the function to claim block rewards is released, users who have exited staking can still claim the accumulated block rewards in the validator. The reward distribution address will be the withdrawal address.
