Please note that obtaining a mnemonic phrase is equivalent to having ownership of the wallet, so be sure to keep it properly.
Backup Mnemonic Phrase
All account addresses under a wallet share one set of mnemonic phrases. Therefore, when exporting the mnemonic phrase of a wallet, you can obtain the mnemonic phrases of all account addresses such as ETH, BTC, ATOM, etc. under the wallet. Specific steps are as follows:
- Click “My Profile” - “Manage Wallets”
- Choose the wallet you want to back up, click “Wallet settings” - “Backup Wallet”
Since the mnemonic phrase cannot be retrieved once lost, be sure to back up the mnemonic phrase immediately after creating the wallet to avoid token loss due to device unavailability.
PSA:
Here’s how to safely back up your wallet:
- Offline storage: Save mnemonic phrases or private keys in offline storage media, such as hardware wallets or paper backups, to reduce the risk of cyber attacks.
- Physical Safeguarding: Physically store backups in a secure location, preventing physical access by unauthorized persons. For example, store the handwritten mnemonic phrase or private key on paper or use a imKey HeirBOX.
- Segmented backup: Divide the mnemonic phrase or private key into multiple parts and back them up in different safe locations to improve security.
- Password protection: Protect backups through encryption, ensuring that even if stolen, the mnemonic phrase or private key cannot be easily obtained.
- It is recommended to use cross-check to ensure that the mnemonic phrase or private key is correct.
