What is Lido?
Lido is a liquid staking protocol that allows you to participate in Ethereum staking while keeping your assets flexible and usable.
With traditional staking, tokens are locked and cannot be used for a period of time. When you stake ETH via Lido, you receive stETH, a token that represents your staked ETH. stETH can be used in DeFi such as trading and lending to earn additional yield. This way, you can earn staking rewards while retaining liquidity.
Currently, the estimated APR for staking ETH via Lido is around 2.6%. This rate adjusts dynamically based on Ethereum network conditions. Please refer to the staking page in the app for the most up-to-date yield information.
You can also swap stETH back to ETH at any time through Lido’s official channels or decentralized exchanges (DEXs) such as 1inch, allowing you to manage your tokens flexibly.
How to Stake ETH
1. Connect to Lido
- Switch to your ETH account, tap Stake in the feature bar.
- Enter the imToken stake page and Confirm connecting your wallet.
- Tap Liquid staking → Stake, then Confirm to connect your wallet.
2. Initiate Staking
- Enter the amount of ETH you want to stake.
- Tap Stake and sign the staking transaction.
- Wait for the transaction to be confirmed.
How to View Staking Rewards
After the transaction is completed, tap Rewards at the bottom of the page to view your staking rewards.
Under Reward History, you will see your stETH balance.
- stETH balance = staked ETH + ETH rewards from the Ethereum network (stETH rewarded). The stETH balance on this page is updated automatically on a daily basis.
💡How to Add stETH to the Wallet Home Page
- Return to the ETH account home page in imToken. Tap + → All My Assets. Check STETH to add it to your account home page.
How to Unstake and Withdraw ETH
1. Choose a withdrawal Method
Open Lido, then tap Withdrawals at the bottom of the page to view available options.
-
Use Lido
Swap stETH back to ETH at a 1:1 ratio. After submitting the withdrawal request, you need to wait about 5 days before manually claiming your ETH.
Note: The waiting time depends on Ethereum’s validator exit queue and withdrawal window. Please refer to the real-time information shown on the page. -
Use DEXs
Swap stETH for ETH via DEXs such as 1inch. This usually completes within minutes, but requires paying DEX swap fees and may not result in a 1:1 exchange due to slippage or market price deviations.
2. Submit a Withdrawal Request (Using Lido as an Example)
- Enter the amount of ETH to withdraw (stETH amount).
- Tap Request withdrawal.
3. Approve the Lido Contract and Withdraw ETH
💡 Why is this step required? This authorization allows the Lido contract to access the specified amount of your stETH so it can return ETH to you later.
- Your wallet will prompt an Approve request.
- Verify the approval amount and tap Confirm to sign.
- On the next page, tap Sign again to submit the withdrawal transaction.
4. Wait and Claim ETH
- In the Withdrawals tab, check the estimated claim time under Claim.
- After the waiting period ends, return to this page and tap Claim ETH.
- Pay the gas fee to receive ETH back into your wallet.
Once the transaction is completed, you can view the received ETH on your ETH account home page.
